Multi-station Cold Heading Machine Mold Design Steps

The multi-station cold heading machine mold feeds the cut material into the cavity of the first main die blank. Under the combined extrusion of the first main die and the first punch, one end of the cut material is thickened to form a head. Then, the first die blank is ejected from the ejector pin cavity by the first main die.

The first die blank is fed into the cavity of the second main die blank. Under the combined extrusion of the second main die and the second punch, the thinner end of the first die blank is reduced to form a tail. Simultaneously, the second die ejector pin extrudes a pre-formed hole at the head, and then the second die ejector pin ejects from the ejector pin cavity by the second main die.

The second-die blank is fed into the cavity of the third-die main die blank. Under the combined extrusion of the third-die main die and the third-die punch, eight teeth are extruded from the tail of the second-die blank, achieving pre-forming of the outer teeth. Simultaneously, the ejector pin of the third-die punch extrudes the pre-formed hole at the head, deepening it. Then, the ejector pin of the third-die main die ejects the third-die blank from the ejector pin cavity of the third-die main die.

The third-die blank is fed into the cavity of the fourth-die main die blank. Under the combined extrusion of the fourth-die main die and the fourth-die punch, the outer teeth at the tail of the third-die blank are further enlarged, achieving outer tooth formation. Simultaneously, the ejector pin of the fourth-die punch extrudes eight teeth from the pre-formed hole at the head, directly achieving inner tooth formation. Then, the ejector pin of the fourth-die main die ejects the finished product from the ejector pin cavity of the fourth-die main die.
